1959
In the beginning
Pedulla’s Wine & Liquor was founded by “Big Jim” and Florence Pedulla in 1959. The original store began in downtown Geneva, before moving up to the Town & Country Plaza In a different store front, before its final move to its current location.
1991
Second Generation
In 1991, Theresa Finnerty (daughter of Jim & Florence) took over ownership with her husband Gary. As a family business, their four children: Sean, Maureen, Brian, and Meghan, all played a role in helping their parents maintain the store. As the surrounding area grew with more and more wineries, distilleries, and brands emerging, Pedulla’s also expanded to carry the best selection it could offer to customers.
2014
Third Generation
In 2014 Brian Finnerty, Third Generation, took over the family business. He began a remodel to modernize the store, creating a fresh and charming atmosphere for its customers. That same year, the store doubled in size, with the addition of the prestigious “New York Room.” Pedulla’s continues to be the prominent hometown supply of wines and spirits for the area. It’s also a dominant source of local products, boasting as impressive portfolio of numerous Finger Lakes and New York State wines, ciders, and spirits. Pedulla’s is proud to have received the 2018 “Retailer of the Year” by the New York Wine & Grape Foundation, and is the 6-time winner of the “Best Liquor Store in the Finger Lakes” by the Finger Lakes Reader’s Choice Awards.
